This November, some of the men at Auto Extract Systems have been creating awareness by growing a moustache for the Movember charity.
A £150 fundraising target was set and a band of ‘Mo Bros’ were created. The challenge was simple, to grow their moustaches to help raise awareness to prevent men from dying too young from prostate cancer, testicular cancer mental health and suicide prevention, amongst other health issues.

Movember Fundraising
The ‘JustGiving’ platform was nominated to help online fundraising and formed a great platform to send money directly to the registered charity.
The company also doubled the funds raised by colleagues, friends and family by an additional £160 to take the fundraising total to £320.
The organiser of the event and our LEV Maintenance and Service Manager, Gareth Bamber, stated: “Movember’s been great fun between the guys in the business this year. Some of our moustaches have looked awful, but it’s all been for a good cause and helps raises funds for an important cause.
“Having the first-hand experience of friends who have experienced a mental health crisis and others who’ve sadly taken their own lives, I thought it was an important cause to raise awareness and funds for.
“I’d like to especially thank Gary for his assistance in helping to make this event happen!
“I’d like to say a special thank you to our MD, Grant, too for the very generous gesture from the company to double our fundraising efforts. Also, to everyone who’s donated to the cause so far, I, along with the rest of the team at Auto Extract Systems appreciate your support.”

The Movember Foundation
The Movember Foundation has been going since 2003 and has funded than 1,250’s men’s health projects. They exist to help men live happier, healthier and longer lives.
Men are dying on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. Unchecked, prostate cancer rates will double over the next 15 years. Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer among men aged 15-39 years of age. And across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 75% of all suicides.
